WHAT’S NEW ?
Nurses on the Front Line – dev.tv’s new series starting Friday 5 January 2007 on BBC World
Each year millions of people die because they have no access to basic life-saving interventions. Globally, there is an estimated shortage of seven million health workers, particularly in rural areas and low-income countries. Virtually no region in the world is immune to its effects.
In this new powerful series, the programmes follow the inspiring work of four nurses from Zambia, Bolivia, Mozambique, and Indonesia (Banda Aceh), looking at their countries’ health crisis and how their lives are affected.
Each programme is broadcast 7 times, as follows (GMT times):
Premiere: Friday at 20.30 GMT.
Re-runs: following Sunday at 06.30 GMT, Monday at 10.30 GMT, Tuesday at 15.30 GMT (South Asia only) & 19.30 GMT (South Asia only), Wednesday at 02.30 GMT (not Asia Pacific or South Asia) & 08.30 GMT.
