Excellent news for Rinconada miners in Peru!

Following the two prizes (out of the 6 already received) “Rinconada: Glacier Gold” won at the International Mountain and Adventure Film Festival of Autrans (France), our film has been shown in several French theatres.

On April 16th, its screening in Paris deeply moved the audience and the event organiser, tour operator Terre d’Aventure. A collection was launched amongst the public, and Terre d’Aventure committed itself to doubling the money raised. Thanks to this, a truck will be rented to evacuate the tons of rubbish which have been covering Rinconada for decades. The miners themselves will clean up their slum.

They had the will, they only needed a truck!

dev.tv would like to join with the NGO GAMA to thank the International Mountain and Adventure Film Festival of Autrans and Terre d’Aventure.

In the meantime, “Rinconada: Glacier Gold” continues its successful participation in international film festivals. There are three more to come in July:

- Grandeur Nature Film Festival, Val d’Isère (France): 11th -14th July 2005. “Rinconada…” will be shown on Wednesday 13th at 7.30 p.m. (CET).

- Nature & Adventure Film Festival, La Plagne (France), 18th-22nd July 2005. Our film is scheduled for Tuesday 19th at 8.45 p.m. (CET).

- Cervino International Film Festival, Breuil-Cervinia/Valtournenche (Aosta Valley, Italy), 20th-24th July 2005. “Rinconada…”, entered into the Documentary section, is to be screened on Thursday 21st at 8.40 p.m. (CET).
